A birding trip to Nepal with Naturetrek
29th Mar to 8th Apr 2019

Picture

WELCOME!

This is a web site report of a trip my wife & I, 3 pals from Glamorgan Bird Club (GBC), and our eldest daughter Rachel, took with Naturetrek, entitled "Nepal - A Birdwatching Tour". The GBC contingent comprised myself and my wife Anne and our eldest daughter Rachel, Alan Rosney, Mike Wheeler, and David Bush. There were 14 participants in total on this trip, some of whom also opted for the pre-tour extension which took in the Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve in the NW part of Nepal. We only did the main tour and this is what this site is limited to for obvious reasons. Visit the pages of diary summaries using the Menu item at the top. Each page has a few images including one or more small galleries. The gallery images there and on the main gallery pages can be enlarged by clicking on them. You can then move through the enlarged images using the L>R keyboard keys or your mouse. The many small birds seen on the trip were usually photographed at some distance so many are pretty heavy crops from the original and are certainly not prizewinners but serve as reasonable record shots in most cases. All bird and animal shots were taken with a Canon EOS 80D with a Canon MK II EF 100-400 IS lens, set on auto ISO. Forest birding meant the ISO was usually pretty high and due to the heavy crops, many shots are pretty 'noisy'.
